Captain

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of passengers and crew
• Instruct crew in safe work habits
• Supervise deck crew positively and effectively
• Ensure compliance with USCG, state, and federal regulations
• Aid Senior Captain in required drills and train crew in emergency actions
• Maintain proper navigation watch and assess navigational hazards
• Ensure vessel seaworthiness and safe passage
• Notify Senior Captain of maintenance issues
• Inform on-duty IGC Agent, Security, and Supervisor of internal control or state regulation violations
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Meet US Coast Guard physical requirements including USDOT drug screen
• Thorough knowledge of US Coast Guard regulations
• Experience in vessel maintenance
• Personnel management experience
• Effective communication skills
• Compliance with departmental, company, and government agency regulations
