About the role

Gordian is the world's leading provider of facility and construction cost data, software, and services for all phases of the building lifecycle. A pioneer of Job Order Contracting (JOC), Gordian's offerings include proprietary RSMeans cost data and Capital Planning software solutions hosted on the Gordian Cloud Platform (GCP). Gordian is part of Fortive, an international business group with 26,000 employees worldwide.

The Solutions Consultant translates complex customer business requirements into viable business solutions, deconstructing customer challenges into discrete, logical components. This role is part of the Planning department's Professional Services team, focusing on helping customers leverage Capital Planning software solutions and their data to enhance capital planning processes. The position reports to the Senior Manager of Professional Services and is remote within the US, requiring 25–40% travel for in-person customer visits. Candidates must live within 45 minutes of a major international airport.

Responsibilities

  • Build long-term customer relationships
  • Serve as a single point of contact for customers by managing overall client engagement, including business process analysis, software installation, configuration, training, and overall client management
  • Lead discovery, co-creation workshops, and stakeholder interviews to understand and document capital planning process requirements and critical success factors
  • Generate and manage project plans and milestones communication (internal and external stakeholders) as well as risk mitigation for implementations
  • Develop project plans specifying goals, regular reporting, owning meetings and communication, following up on tasks, identifying risks and contingency plans, and keeping resources and efforts focused on priorities, timeline, and budget for larger, more complex projects
  • Assist clients in modifying current processes to maximize ROI for Gordian products
  • Lead core and transactional data migration projects, including mapping, import, and error/warning analysis
  • Develop documentation for agendas, project progress, action items, process flow, and reports
  • Provide training to educate customers in the operation and use of their solution and capital planning processes
  • Establish a foundation for the customer to achieve success post-engagement
  • Assist with presale activities including meetings and conference calls to determine needs analysis and project scope/pricing
  • Identify potential change request opportunities and sell additional resources/services to clients to increase revenues over planned targets
  • Maintain product expertise and apply best practices to achieve customer goals
  • Ensure project adherence to Gordian's project methodology (standard work)
  • Leverage and implement Fortive Business System (FBS) tools to proactively identify and solve problems
  • Ensure appropriate billability of project hours and allocate time and expenses to projects as necessary
  • Ensure timely tracking and submission of forecasts for revenue and resources
  • Deliver at least 70–80% billable hours

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Architecture or Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience with facilities and data analytics
  • At least 3 years' experience translating customer business requirements into business solutions and presenting those solutions to stakeholders
  • Experience facilitating workshops, gathering requirements, understanding client processes, and making software and workflow work together
  • Experience with all phases of a client software implementation lifecycle, including initial needs analysis, project administration, software configuration, onsite training, troubleshooting, and ongoing account management
  • Experience implementing software and supporting clients; managing multiple clients at once, breaking projects down into tasks, estimating effort, and delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Thorough understanding of data manipulation and analysis for data migrations and building reports/visuals
  • Proven ability to successfully balance multiple projects; manage own calendar and understand when request volume will impact work quality
  • Experience managing timelines, developing and executing project plans, and delivering to billable utilization targets
  • Self-motivated learning style with a drive for consistent improvement and excellent eye for detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including instructing and/or speaking to an audience
  • Delivery focused: understand what you can and can't commit to, with a proven track record of delivering on commitments
  • Successful problem solver: solution-focused, not simply agreeing to client requests when a better solution may exist; look for innovative ways to resolve issues without being constrained by knowledge gaps

Additional Qualifications (Strongly Desired, Not Required)

  • Life and long-term disability (LTD) insurance
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • 401(k) retirement plan
