About the Role

Assists Capital Department with special projects and various administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a high level of citizen confidence.
  • Demonstrate the principles of One Team, One Goal in daily interactions with staff and guests.
  • Aid in establishing and maintaining exceptional relationships with internal team members and external stakeholders.
  • Support and ensure a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging exists in all areas of the Park District.
  • Operate office equipment including computer, scan, and copy machine.
  • Scan and file project and grant files.
  • Maintain and file flat files.
  • Create subfolders in shared drive for scanned files.
  • Prepare for meetings and special events.
  • Perform general office organizational work.
  • Contribute to special projects as needed (may include filed work).

Requirements

  • High School or GED Equivalent, some college preferred.
  • Good communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal).
  • Good computer skills, keyboarding, and some familiarity with word processing.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Commitment to following procedures exactly and in the correct order.
  • Ability to communicate verbally one-on-one and in groups.
  • Solve problems, understand, and remember.
  • Ability to hear, read, and comprehend the English language.
  • Physical requirements: medium to light work, including moderate physical intensity tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, sitting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, repetitive motions, substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
