Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop the New Capacity and Risk Team
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for operational and technical issues related to new capacity.
- Proactively Identify and Assess Operational Risk
- Lead structured risk identification activities, including site health assessments, site physicals, and operational readiness reviews.
- Establish and maintain consistent assessment standards to evaluate facility condition, design compliance, operational gaps, and latent risk.
- Ensure risks are documented, prioritized, clearly communicated, and tracked through closure.
- Provide independent engineering judgment on site readiness and risk exposure.
- Reduce Operational Risk and Improve Reliability
- Apply disciplined engineering practices to commissioning oversight, risk assessments, and issue resolution.
- Ensure risks identified through assessments, audits, and commissioning are addressed before turnover or escalated with clear business impact.
- Drive resolution of systemic issues that could impact day-two operations and long-term reliability.
- Drive Continuous Improvement
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen how new capacity is delivered into operations.
- Improve standards, processes, and tools to increase consistency and reduce operational risk.
- Use lessons learned from commissioning and early operations to drive organizational improvements.
- Deliver New Capacity into Operations
- Ensure new capacity is delivered into operations in a consistent and scalable manner.
- Provide early insight into major risks, constraints, and readiness gaps.
- Drive cross-functional issue resolution to support successful site handoff and operational readiness.
- Bridge Design, Construction, Procurement, and Operations
- Act as the primary interface between design, construction, procurement, and operations teams.
- Improve alignment across functions to enhance day-one readiness and day-two reliability.
- Ensure operational requirements and risks are addressed throughout the project lifecycle.
- B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or other related technical field) or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of experience in mission critical industry with at least 4 years as a manager of a technical team supporting live, mission-critical operations.
- Strong background in risk identification, commissioning oversight, and issue resolution.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional work across design, construction, and operations.
- Experience operating in complex, mission-critical environments.
- Data center, critical facilities, or other high-reliability infrastructure experience preferred.
- Experience managing both engineering and program management roles.
- Demonstrated success improving operational readiness and reducing post-handoff issues.
