About the role
The UCI Health System Capacity Command Center supervises Transfer Center, Bed Placement Coordinators, and Transport operations. The supervisor ensures compliance with policies, facilitates patient transfers, oversees bed placement, manages staffing, and resolves frontline issues.
Responsibilities
- Supports timely and safe interfacility and intra-location patient transfers
- Oversees patient flow operations at the facility level
- Maintains regulatory, patient safety, and institutional standards
- Collaborates with ambulance vendors and transport to ensure timely patient movement
- Provides operational oversight, support, and consistency in workflows, processes, and practices across facilities
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of hospital operations, patient flow, and clinical processes
- Strong analytical skills to analyze data, review trends, and make recommendations for improvement
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience working in a transfer center or patient placement setting
- Experience working in an acute care setting
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor of Science, Nursing
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships across the Health System
- Self-directed, self-motivated, fast-paced environment with changing deadlines and priorities
- Willingness to travel between all facilities within the health system
