Capacity Command Center Supervisor-Capacity Management-FT Variable Shift

About the role

The UCI Health System Capacity Command Center is seeking a Supervisor to oversee the Transfer Center, Bed Placement Coordinators, and Transport teams. The role involves supporting timely and safe interfacility and intra-location patient transfers, managing patient flow operations, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supports timely and safe interfacility and intra-location patient transfers
• Manages patient flow operations at the facility level
• Oversees both clinical and non-clinical teams
• Ensures adherence to policies and regulatory requirements
• Maintains regulatory, patient safety, and institutional standards
• Collaborates with ambulance vendors and transport to ensure timely patient movement
• Provides operational oversight, support staff, and ensures consistency in workflows, processes, and operational practices across locations

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of hospital operations, patient flow, and clinical processes
• Strong customer service orientation and written/oral communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills to analyze data, review trends, and make recommendations for improvement
• Experience working in a transfer center or patient placement setting
• Experience working in an acute care setting
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Bachelor of Science, Nursing
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Ability and willingness to travel between all facilities within the health system

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications
• Bachelor of Science, Nursing
• Master of Science in Nursing or similar graduate degree preferred
