Cannabis Budtender

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age and successfully complete a comprehensive background check
• At least 2 years of experience working in a retail or hospitality setting
• Ability to stand for long hours, up to a 10-hour shift
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions as needed
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and moderately tech-savvy to troubleshoot minor issues
• Strong cash handling, math skills, and attention to detail
• Multilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in guests in a timely manner, ensuring they feel comfortable
• Accurately perform transactions through the POS system
• Maintain an advanced understanding of all cannabis and cannabis-infused products to tailor recommendations to each guest
• Educate guests on varieties of cannabis and cannabis-infused products, consumption methods, and storage requirements
• Actively listen to guests to provide the highest level of service
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-merchandised store environment
• Assist with inventory receiving, management, labeling, packaging, and restocking
• Dispense cannabis and cannabis products in compliance with Cannabis Control Commission regulations
• Become well-versed in Metrc and POS systems to complete transactions
• Accurately make change and follow money handling protocols
• Provide upbeat, engaging, and efficient assistance to guests on the sales floor
• Keep the sales floor clean and organized
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Monitor and communicate inventory levels to ensure consistent availability
• Work a flexible schedule including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Remain diligent in preventing sales to minors and theft
• Use professional terminology for cannabis and cannabis products, avoiding street slang
• Answer guest questions about strain lineage, effects, sourcing, and usage instructions
• Manage guest flow and communicate any issues to Retail Management
• Maintain a welcoming, high-energy demeanor in all guest interactions
• Build trust and loyalty by remembering regular customers' names and preferences
• Remain calm, kind, and effective under pressure
• Follow all directions and training provided by management, adapting to procedural changes
• Troubleshoot minor POS system issues
• Maintain accuracy in managing assigned inventory carts and cash till
• Perform side-work and additional tasks as directed by the Retail Management team

Pay

$18 - $20 USD per hour

Schedule

• Flexible schedule based on business needs, including morning, midday, and evening shifts
• Weekend and holiday availability required
