Cancer Center Scheduler - Infusion - Hopewell - Full-Time - DAYS

Position Overview

Collaborates with physician offices, hospital clinic or directly with patients to schedule Cancer Center patients, gathers patient’s complete medical records, oversees registration and checkout process, coordinates communication of follow-up care needs, assures prompt patient service, maintains positive working relationships, coordinates inter-department services and resources, communicates with hospital transport and outside transportation resources, verifies insurance precertification and authorization, confirms physician orders, reviews routine issues, handles patient problems/complaints, assists co-workers during periods of heightened patient activity, develops and implements a practice-specific plan for new program introductions, and performs additional duties.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Six months medical office or hospital setting experience.
• Other Credentials: Knowledge and Skills - Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to problem solve and multi-task; Able to multi-task and manage frequent interruptions.
• Special Training: Proficient computer skills; Familiar with medical terminology and endoscopic and/or surgical procedures; Experience with variety of insurance companies preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Frequent physical demands: Sitting, Wrist position deviation, Pinching/fine motor activities, Keyboard use/repetitive motion, Talk or Hear.
• Occasional physical demands: Standing, Walking, Climbing (stairs or ladders), Carry objects, Push/Pull, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead, Squat/kneel/crawl.
• Continuous physical demands: Lifting Floor to Waist 15 lbs., Lifting Waist Level and Above 10 lbs.
