Description

Queens Community House (QCH) is recruiting volunteers for their Friendly Visiting program, which pairs home-bound older adults aged 60+ with volunteers for weekly visits. This initiative aims to reduce isolation and loneliness among seniors in Western, Central, and Southeast Queens.

Responsibilities

• Visit or call an older adult weekly
• Create a mutual relationship with the older adult
• Discuss shared interests, learn/teach new skills, read books, learn technology, play board games, and more

Requirements

• Can spare 1 hour a week
• Willingness to develop a meaningful friendship
