Location: Desert Pines High School, Las Vegas

Temporary position: 9 months, 7 hours per day

About the role

This is a para-professional support-staff position within the Clark County School District, serving students at the high-school level under Title I guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified staff in delivering instructional services to students.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support in core academic areas.
• Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior plans.
• Monitor student progress and document observations as directed.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment.
• Perform clerical duties such as record-keeping, material preparation, and classroom setup.
• Supervise students during transitions, meals, and extracurricular activities as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of the following qualifications:
  • Sixty (60) semester hours of college credit from an accredited institution, or
  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution, or
  • Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent local assessment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with classroom support.
• Effective communication skills in English; bilingual candidates encouraged.
• Must complete a successful background check and fingerprint clearance.
