About the Role

This is a day position within the Para-Professional/Aides/Assistants job category, supporting Region Three of the Clark County School District.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified staff in providing instructional support to students.
• Help implement lesson plans and educational activities under the direction of a teacher.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group assistance to students as needed.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom management and student supervision.
• Support students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Perform clerical duties such as preparing materials, grading assignments, and recording student progress.
• Operate and assist students with instructional technology and equipment.
• Participate in professional development and training as required.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of the following qualifications:
  • Completion of at least two years of study (48 semester hours) at an accredited institution of higher education; or
  • An Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution; or
  • A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or another state-approved assessment.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff in a diverse educational environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new technologies.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks as required (e.g., assisting students with mobility needs).
• Must pass a background check and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
