About the role
The Professional Services Specialist III position within the TCNJ Police Department is responsible for administering, maintaining, and updating electronic systems and services. This role also involves providing technical support, project management, and developing business continuity plans.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and update Campus Safety and Access Control systems.
- Assist with technical needs of the TCNJ Police Department, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
- Setup, configure, install, and maintain specialized police department and access control hardware, software, and electronics.
- Create, review, and update business continuity and emergency operations plans.
- Serve as a liaison between the Campus Safety department, the TCNJ IT department, vendors, and partner agencies.
- Coordinate TCNJ Police Department IT budget requests with the TCNJ IT Business Office.
- Provide expertise on technical, functional, and/or departmental topics during the development, integration, and implementation of new systems and applications.
- Perform ongoing maintenance and administration of systems and applications.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree supplemented by a Master's degree in a field related to the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority.
- Experience: Two years professional experience in an institution of higher education or in education, higher education or other field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority.
- Skills: Analytical and technical problem solving skills, general proficiency with software, hardware and operating systems, strong client-service orientation, exceptional organizational and communication skills.
