Position Objective
To oversee and drive various animal liberation projects for PETA’s campaigns
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Push a variety of animal issues in the media and the public consciousness through creative work, outreach, and project coordination
- Conduct research and analysis on campaign targets
- Develop and coordinate a wide variety of projects for PETA’s campaigns
- Draft letters and other documents to support PETA’s campaigns
- Analyze the success of campaign efforts and adjust strategy accordingly
- Participate in brainstorming and assist with strategizing
- Support campaigns by handling administrative responsibilities of the division, including scheduling meetings, liaising between departments, and taking notes
- Build subject matter expertise in common animal liberation issues
- Keep informed about local, national, and international news stories and track stories relevant to campaigns
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent experience
- Proven excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Previous project- or campaign-management experience
- Thorough knowledge of animal liberation issues and PETA campaigns
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively
- Proven ability to take initiative and follow through
- Demonstrated excellent research and analytical skills
- Proven ability to communicate with a variety of people in a professional and personable manner
- Comfort in a fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, work with minimal direct oversight, and meet deadlines
- Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
- Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
- Commitment to the objectives of the organization
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.30 per hour. The ultimate hourly pay within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
