Position Summary
The camp support staff assist the camp director in preparing the facility for the 2026 Summer Season at Camp Chickami. This position averages 8 hours per week (up to 10 hours per week) and runs from May 11, 2026 to June 29, 2026.

Essential Functions
- Cleaning of buildings and grounds including lavatories with disinfectant, wiping down and windexing mirrors, washing floors, cleaning partitions.
- Active support of DEIB statement and implementing our commitment to equity, diversity, belonging, and inclusion.
- Clean and sanitize campgrounds and supplies in accordance with camp's safety protocols.
- Maintain fields, prepare, clean, and organize all areas of camp for the start of the new season.
- Organize and take inventory of supplies, maintain tools and equipment, store in proper places, label and store toxic liquids in a locked area, paint when necessary.
- Return completed work orders and requests to Camp Director, communicate any major issues with the Camp Director and YMCA Maintenance Department, demonstrate/teach the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to all staff, follow all camp rules, regulations, and policies, enforce them among peers, maintain positive public relations with families, visitors, and the general public, be aware of and respond to environmental and other hazards related to assigned activities, submit all required paperwork on time, perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Physical ability to handle equipment up to fifty pounds and work at heights over six feet.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a cohesive team.

- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Physical Demands
Meet strength and lifting requirements of 50lbs, see and observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility, hear noises and work in a fast-paced environment that requires patience, focus, and diligence.
