Cam Polisher

Summary

As a Cam Polisher, your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain machinery used in the polishing of cams for various applications. You will work in a manufacturing setting where precision and attention to detail are paramount. Your role involves polishing camshafts to meet specific quality standards, ensuring optimal performance in engines and other mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Utilize specialized polishing equipment to polish camshafts according to technical specifications and quality standards
• Inspect camshafts before and after polishing to ensure they meet precise tolerances and surface finish requirements
• Perform routing maintenance on polishing machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This may include cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs
• Identify and address any issues or defects in the polishing process, such as uneven polishing or surface imperfections
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities being produced, inspection results, and any maintenance performed
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others
• Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team, including engineers and quality control personnel, to ensure efficient production and quality outcomes
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in the polishing process
• Any other tasks/duties as assigned or deemed necessary by management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in operating polishing machinery or similar equipment is preferred
• Knowledge of machining processes and materials
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required
