Responsibilities
- Coordinates and assigns work of employees engaged in the maintenance of travel way and/or landscape of the State highways.
- Enforces safety and health policies and procedures as contained in the Department's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
- Aids in work relating to the maintenance of highway, structure and landscaped areas.
- Maintain a valid Class C driver's license.
- May be required to work overtime, work irregular shifts/alternate work schedules including nights, holidays and weekends.
- May be loaned to other cost centers.
Requirements
- Class C Driver's License.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.
- Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.

Job Description And Duties
Under general direction of a Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent, the Caltrans Maintenance Supervisor coordinates and assigns work of employees engaged in the maintenance of travel way and/or landscape of the State highways. The incumbent enforces safety and health policies and procedures as contained in the Department's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP); and assists in work relating to the maintenance of highway, structure and landscaped areas. The incumbent will be required to maintain a valid Class C driver's license. The incumbent may be required to work overtime, work irregular shifts/alternate work schedules including nights, holidays and weekends; may be required to work temporary and/or intermittent varied work shifts and required to respond to emergency situations and calls.
