CALTRANS MAINTENANCE AREA SUPERINTENDENT

Multiple permanent, full-time positions available in San Bernardino County. In-office work; emergency response required outside normal work hours.

About the role

The Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent oversees highway and functional maintenance crews responsible for major interstate highways and state routes. This role involves responding to natural and other disasters and requires a valid Class "C" Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance crews maintaining major interstate highways and state routes.
• Respond to natural and other disasters.
• Operate State-owned or leased vehicles (valid driver’s license required).

Requirements

• Possession of a valid Class "C" Driver's License.
• Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the CALTRANS MAINTENANCE AREA SUPERINTENDENT exam. New or non-transferring candidates must be on the state examination list.
• Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If basing eligibility on education, unofficial transcript(s)/diploma must be provided for verification. Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must include a U.S. equivalency evaluation report.

Pay

$7,306.00 - $9,068.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
