CALTRANS MAINTENANCE AREA SUPERINTENDENT

About the role

The Storm Water/Material Site Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of maintenance storm water compliance and material site compliance within Inyo, Mono, Eastern Kern, and part of San Bernardino Counties. This position covers all facets of storm water management and compliance, including record keeping, documentation, writing/updating reports, and training maintenance employees on storm water compliance.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships internally and with CT partners, other agencies, and interest groups.
• Develop and monitor performance and budget constraints for work plans and contracts related to maintenance storm water and material sites.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff and other agencies to ensure all material sites are compliant with county, state, and SMARA regulations.
• Act as backup for various superintendents and programs as needed, including IMMS/LOS, hazardous materials, mountain region, special services, desert region, equipment manager, avalanche, and maintenance managers.

Requirements

This position requires a valid California Drivers License (CDL) and possession of the appropriate endorsements and/or restrictions. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

• A valid California Drivers License (CDL).
• Experience with maintenance storm water, material sites, and hazardous materials.
• Ability to initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships internally and with CT partners, other agencies, and interest groups.
• Experience in developing and monitoring performance and budget constraints for work plans and contracts.
