CALTRANS EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I
Job Description and Duties
The primary responsibilities of a CALTRANS EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I include operating various types of heavy equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Specific duties may vary based on the type of equipment operated.
Working Conditions
Positions are located at 3218 Hill Rd E, Lakeport, Lake County. Employees may be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 20 degrees, and may need to work overtime during storms, emergencies, or special work projects.
Minimum Requirements
- A valid California Drivers License (CDL)
- Possession of a valid Class B commercial driver license with a N (Tank Vehicle) endorsement
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for operating state-owned or leased vehicles
Special Requirements
- Work boots in good condition
- Long or short sleeve shirts provided by Caltrans or safety vest
- Long pants, no cutoffs or shorts
- Provided safety gear: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection devices, face shields, gloves, respirators, chaps
