About the role
This is a hybrid work opportunity handling Student Loan collections. The position is Monday through Friday, requiring 3 days per week onsite in our Fairport, New York office. ConServe has been providing accounts receivable management and collection services since 1980, focusing on customized solutions for various clients including colleges, universities, guaranty agencies, private lenders, credit unions, and government contracts. We aim to help people manage their financial obligations in a way that preserves their dignity and empowers them.
Responsibilities
- Obtain information from Consumers to determine their current financial situation and offer solutions
- Provide solutions to Consumers to help them resolve their obligations either administratively or voluntarily
- Gather necessary documentation from Consumers and ensure appropriate follow-up
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly productivity targets set by management
- Work in a call center environment or remotely, making between 125-200 phone calls per day
- Manage and update records in the system to maximize contacts
- Participate in skip-tracing activities to locate and contact consumers or businesses
- Adhere to ConServe's Professional Practices Management System (PPMS), Code of Conduct, and Compliance Program
Requirements
- The ability to work 8-hour shifts, consisting of 3 days starting between 8:00 AM EST and 9:30 AM EST and ending between 5:00 PM CST and 6:30 PM EST, with 2 evenings from Noon EST - 9:00 PM EST
- The ability to work onsite 3 days per week and remotely the remaining 2 days
- Prior experience in Student Loan collections is preferred
- Willingness to work an occasional Saturday morning shift (optional)
- Fluent in conversational English and proficient in reading and writing English
- Strong verbal communication skills, including listening, persuading, negotiating, and obtaining resolution
- Intermediate computer skills to document calls and navigate software packages, databases, and the internet
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to act independently to resolve problems

- Ability to work in a positive, collaborative manner with coworkers
- History of maintaining confidentiality and high levels of trustworthiness

- Ability to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance (State and/or Federal Clearance process will be assisted by the team)
- Ability and history of obtaining and maintaining State Collections Licensure
- US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with three or more years as a permanent resident in the United States
- No conflicts of interest with ConServe or our Clients

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The position requires 2 shifts from noon to 9:00 PM and 3 days per week onsite in Fairport, NY. The remaining 3 days are day shifts. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
