Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals following established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Adjust recipes to meet portion requirements and special dietary needs.
- Follow all food safety regulations, including proper storage, handling, and labeling.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and serving areas.
- Serve meals efficiently and courteously to students and staff.
- Monitor portion sizes to ensure fairness and compliance with nutrition standards.
- Aid in ordering, receiving, and storing food and supplies.
- Track inventory and report shortages or equipment issues.
- Work closely with cafeteria staff, school administrators, and nutrition coordinators.
- Support special events or programs requiring food service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe certification a plus).
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and commitment to serving children.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced school cafeteria setting.
- Interaction with students, staff, and other food service workers.
Schedule
Aligned with school hours (may include early mornings).
