CAD Technician - Utility
Responsibilities
Responsibilities require being actively engaged in plan production and design of projects. More specifically, responsibilities include:
- Using established CAD standards to prepare electronic drawings from minimum marked-up plans and/or verbal instruction by engineers/designers
- Oversight of CAD systems management, refinement and evolution of standards
- Organizing and scheduling your own work, and at times, the work of other team members to accomplish project goals within established budgets and schedules
- Coordination with engineers and other design team members
- Plotting and assembling construction plans
Requirements
At a minimum, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:
- High School graduate or GED required
- Post-high school technical coursework, certification or degree in computer drafting/design or related field preferred
- Responsive and results-oriented in service to clients
- 2-4 years of civil CAD experience and understanding of a variety of projects including residential subdivisions, public infrastructure improvements (i.e., streets, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, etc.), site development projects involving parks, schools, churches, hospitals, and retail/commercial centers
- Proficient in the latest version of Bentley Microstation and OpenRoads Designer, 2D and 3D drafting, GEOPAK, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members
- Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to and adopt new CAD standards and procedures
- Demonstrated commitment to quality in the design and presentation of drawings
- Prior Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)/utility experience is preferred but not required
