About the role
We are seeking a CAD Technician for a team that designs supply chain solutions for package sorting, processing, and shipping. This individual will create detailed drawings of material handling equipment, work areas, and material handling components. The role involves design work, simulation with internal tools, and spatial design. A successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work with limited direction to create drawing sets that standardize work spaces and designs across a large network of fulfillment operations.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed drawings of material handling equipment, work areas, and components with a high level of detail in both plan and elevation views.
- Perform design work, taking designs to deployment, primarily focused on 2D work in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Support continued updates for existing sites as new designs are scaled across multiple building templates.
- Conduct simulation with internal tools and perform spatial design, including systems planning and analysis.
- Standardize work spaces and designs across a large network of fulfillment operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design.
- Minimum of 2 years of operating experience in CAD with the ability to work and manage layers.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience drawing in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment.
- Experience with 2D/3D drafting and design using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Solidworks.
- Basic knowledge of material handling and storage systems.
- Understanding of industrial systems flow or manufacturing process concepts.
- Coding experience, such as with Python or C.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with conveyor design and layout.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to communicate effectively to various audiences.
- Ability to lead small groups.
