About the role

Under direct supervision, perform detailed Transmission drafting work to create, update, and maintain identified drawings, as well as other related drafting tasks as assigned. This co-op opportunity spans May to December 2027.

Responsibilities

• Draw, update, and maintain transmission substation and line drawings, including electrical, civil, structural, building, and other diagrams associated with transmission design, using computer software or, when necessary, by hand.
• Modify drawings to match marked prints or verbal instructions.
• Create, maintain, and prepare special posters, signs, charts, maps, or reports as requested.
• Assist in taking field measurements or sketches at the site to resolve discrepancies on drawings or maps and/or obtain additional information.
• Maintain and update information in the electronic drawing management system.

Working Conditions

• Primarily in an office environment.
• May require field trips or special on-site projects, subject to conditions in switchyards, substations, or other buildings, as well as outdoor weather conditions.
• Must wear personal protective equipment as required when in the field.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a degree in Design Drafting, Computer Aided Drafting, or other drafting technology from an accredited university.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA required; 3.0 or higher preferred.
