CAD Drafter

In-office position focused on developing and revising drawings for utility design, permit applications, and telecommunications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings.
• Prepare and revise plot drawings.
• Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
• Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design and permitting problems.
• Use CAD software for client projects after training.
• Interpret and incorporate design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
• Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
• Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects.
• Work with leaders and team members to facilitate and support internal change efforts to increase organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Currently eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• High school graduate or GED (documentation required).
• College degree or some college coursework in drafting technology, or specialized CAD certification (preferred).
• 1+ years of relevant drafting experience.
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize new CAD software programs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and designers in a multi-discipline project team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged sitting and standing required.
• Occasional need to lift, pull, carry, and push items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and courteously.
• Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and company needs.

Environmental/Working Conditions

• Works in a routine office environment.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed.
• Travel may be required.
