Cable & Wiring Specialist II

About the role

The Cable and Wiring Specialist - Level II supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA) GSP TO7 at ATAMMC, Fort Belvoir, VA. The position involves installing, testing, terminating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and data cabling infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, terminate, maintain, and troubleshoot all network and data cabling.
• Perform and enforce industry-standard cable management in network closets, data centers, and at customer locations.
• Conduct and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all cabling and wiring infrastructure.

Requirements

• 4+ Years of experience demonstrating the required proficiency in network cabling and wiring.
• A High School Diploma or G.E.D. and/or equivalency.
• Experience installing, testing, terminating, maintaining, and troubleshooting copper and optical fiber cables.
• Knowledge of cabling standards and ability to read engineering diagrams for buildings and cable plant.
• Experience with cable management practices in network closets and data centers.

Certification Requirements

• A current IAT II Certification with ce designation is required to Start.
• A Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI) Certification is required to Start.

Clearance Requirements

• Must have or be able to obtain a NACLC Public Trust which is required to Start.
