Cable Technician II

This is a contract position based in Montgomery, AL, with an anticipated close date of Sep 5, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Layout and install wireway, bus duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and other devices
• Build closets, including mounting and installing backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware, and related equipment
• Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required
• Complete all IDC connections (e.g., terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels)
• Work inside and outside buildings to support data center construction and expansion
• Pull wire and/or oversee and direct conduit installations and wire pulling
• Operate tools and equipment requiring the use of two hands (e.g., cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jackhammers)
• Troubleshoot fiber optic systems

Requirements

• Low voltage experience
• Fiber knowledge and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with cable installation, including Cat5, Cat6, and structured cabling
• Proficiency in rack and stack, punchdown, and related tasks
• Ability to work in a fully onsite position in Montgomery, AL

Pay

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
