Cable Technician
About the Role
We have multiple openings for Data Center Technicians supporting the buildout of a large data center in Sandston, VA. These technicians will be responsible for IT cabling on a large scale. We have an exclusive contract to build the cable infrastructure for this facility and are seeking candidates with 6–12 months of hands-on experience pulling cable, working with fiber, or supporting low-voltage installations.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandston, VA. This is a fully onsite position.
Responsibilities
- Assist with running, terminating, and installing IT cabling (Cat5, Cat6, Coaxial, and Fiber Optics).
- Install grounding for server racks, equipment, and cabling as required (heavy Cisco environment).
- Perform fire-stopping procedures on firewalls, install sleeves, and support low-voltage device installations.
- Terminate low-voltage devices and IT hardware (cameras, servers, switches, etc.).
- Follow blueprints precisely to ensure work is completed correctly.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, etc.).
- Adhere to and participate in all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 6–12 months of experience pulling cable, installing low-voltage cabling, and/or working with fiber optic infrastructure.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain a strong attendance record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a construction environment.
Work Environment
You will be working in a large data center in Sandston, VA. These sites are often active construction environments, so candidates must be comfortable working around ongoing construction activities and working at heights when required. Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the role and wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves.

Pay & Benefits
