About the role

A trading firm in Chicago is hiring C++ engineers to their low latency trading systems technology team. Relative experience in finance is ideal, but the team is open to excellent low latency candidates from out of industry. Excellent C++ experience is a must with STL/Boost, Linux/Unix, etc.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain low latency trading systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including traders, risk managers, and software developers
• Implement and optimize algorithms for high-frequency trading
• Ensure system reliability and performance under high load conditions
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of trading strategies and technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• At least 5 years of professional experience in C++ development
• Experience with low latency trading systems and financial markets
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment

Qualifications

• Knowledge of C++11 and later standards
• Experience with Boost libraries
• Understanding of concurrent programming concepts
• Experience with Linux/Unix command line tools and scripting
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
