About the role
A trading firm in Chicago is hiring C++ engineers to their low latency trading systems technology team. Relative experience in finance is ideal, but the team is open to excellent low latency candidates from out of industry. Excellent C++ experience is a must with STL/Boost, Linux/Unix, etc.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain low latency trading systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including traders, risk managers, and software developers
- Implement and optimize algorithms for high-frequency trading
- Ensure system reliability and performance under high load conditions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of trading strategies and technologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in C++ development
- Experience with low latency trading systems and financial markets
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment
Qualifications
- Knowledge of C++11 and later standards
- Experience with Boost libraries
- Understanding of concurrent programming concepts
- Experience with Linux/Unix command line tools and scripting
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
