Responsibilities
- Upholds the missions and goals of The Crafts Center
- Initial prioritization, troubleshooting, resolution, escalation, and timely response to user requests and issues
- Supports C:LAB members and students by answering technical questions, servicing and producing student works, offering workflow and data management suggestions, promoting the C:LAB on campus, and supporting instructors
- Maintains, deploys, and supervises all computers, equipment and software in the C:LAB
- Provides technology support for classroom instruction
- Aids with password resets, accounts, permissions, and general network troubleshooting in cooperation with University IT
- Maintains documentation for network, user applications, safety and use, and software
- Identifies trends, rolls out proactive projects, and supports other duties as assigned
- Manages C:LAB inventory, supplies, and materials
- Develops and expands maker projects with the Director and instructors
- Provides orientation to new instructors and students
- Gathers, manages all documentation relating to user manuals, best practices, and health and safety expectations
- Maintains best practices related to student health and safety by teaching/conducting proper technique and supervision
- Creates a warm and welcoming learning environment for students
- Communicates clearly and professionally in a timely manner
Requirements and Preferences
- Must be current NCSU Undergraduate student
- Understanding of network infrastructure, hardware and software systems
- Exceptional ability to learn new software and expertise with Adobe Creative Suite and CAD programs
- Professionalism, honesty, integrity, and respect for everyone on campus
- Strong customer service skills including punctuality, professional dress, focused attention, and a positive attitude
- Self-motivated person with a problem-solving curiosity
- Ability to lift 50lbs and to walk up and down stairs
