About the role
The Makerspace Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in the Makerspace community, supporting associates, planning events, and managing the space's operations.
Responsibilities
- Aid associates in using the Makerspace and assist with orientation sessions, group events, or tours.
- Develop and manage event plans, timelines, logistics, marketing, promotion, and budgets.
- Detail-oriented management of priorities to efficiently handle multiple tasks.
- Create policies, processes, workflow diagrams, and other documentation.
- Track inventory and purchase new consumables related to the Makerspace and oversee the budget.
- Ensure compliance with global environmental requirements, 5S, and EHS.
- Follow and enforce Makerspace policies.
- Construct reports for the organization to support high-level oversight and facilitate improvement.
- Stay current with technology trends and make recommendations for new equipment, software, and skill workshops.
- Collaborate with staff on planning for the future.
- Communicate effectively through written and verbal means, including public speaking and running meetings.
- Create content for banners, posters, monitors to promote activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Business (Operations Management, Project Management, Marketing), Learning & Development, Creative fields (Product Design, Industrial Design), or Technical/Engineering Technology.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- IC3 Level: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- IC2 Level: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 4–9 years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
