(C) Equipment Speicalist

Description

Provide the IBCT Product Line with support for the purchase and maintenance of Hull, Mechanical & Electrical or Electronics equipment. Requirements include drafting technical documentation, researching topics such as lead time and cost to expedite, reviewing inspection reports, and performing market research to obtain pricing information.

• Draft technical documentation to support purchase, repair and overhaul of CG parts and material.
• Accurately document research required for purchase and repair of shipboard systems/equipment.
• Accurately collect and provide information to product line personnel.
• Accurately analyze and provide feedback for system/equipment inspection reports.
• Review and maintain technical data.
• Research topics such as lead time, quantity on hand, cost to expedite, and vendor core exchange programs.
• Review inspection reports for repairable contracts.
• Utilize SFLC computer applications to develop required technical documentation.
• Assist the IM with tracking, investigating, and updating status of Supply Discrepancy Reports, Quality Deficiency Reports, and Mandatory Turn-In items.
• Perform market research to obtain pricing information and assist Item Manager procure commercial spare parts, technical items, and all other necessary supplies/services for ship repair and casualty response.
• Provide technical review and response to condition found reports (CFRs) and change requests (CRs).
• Assist with the development of procurement requests to modify appropriate funding documents.
• May assist the Government KO or COR in cost and price analysis and preparing the cost and price report.
• May research historical proposal activity and pricing strategies to assist and advise SFLC IBCTPL on the best strategy to obtain desired products and services for the best value to the government from acquisition to obsolescence.

Requirements

• Stationary Posture: Ability to remain seated or stand at a workstation for 50% to 100% of a shift.
• Repetitive Motion: Continuous, low-force movement of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate a keyboard, mouse, and phone.
• Visual Acuity: Close-range vision to read documents and view computer monitors for extended periods.
• Occasional Lifting: Capability to lift, carry, or move lightweight items up to 10 pounds, such as files, laptops, or office supplies.
• Mobility: Ability to walk short distances inside the office to reach printers, break rooms, or meeting spaces.

Education/Certification Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Preferred, but experience accepted in lieu.
• Possess knowledge of Government/CG acquisition process and procurement requirements/Federal Acquisitions Requirements (FAR).
• Expertise in shipboard systems and equipment, with a minimum of 5 years experience in the marine field (preferably with the Coast Guard).
• Possess knowledge of documents specification documents including United States Defense Standards (MILSPEC), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), National Electric Code (NEC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) etc.
• Proficiently read and understand technical drawings and publications.
• Understand proper use of office equipment (computers, scanners, fax machines, etc.) as well as Microsoft office applications.
• Experienced in Microsoft Power Point©, Microsoft Word©, Microsoft Access© and Microsoft Excel©.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing to present and defend technical recommendations, facilitate consensus, present briefings, create and modify technical documents and advise management officials.
• Knowledge and experience with commercial and military standards, including the FAR.
• Knowledge and ability to correctly identify HM&E and ELEX components, material, and packaging requirements in order to make recommendations to item managers regarding condition of frustrated materials.
