Key Responsibilities
- Schedule laser department employees to meet production goals
- Program and set up laser cutting machines for efficient operation
- Monitor production rates and resolve process issues
- Ensure parts meet customer quality specifications
- Review and validate accurate production reporting in the ERP system
- Cook up preventative maintenance and machine repairs
- Train employees on safety procedures and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5–10 years of experience setting up and programming Bystronic laser cutting machines
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
- Experience in metal fabrication preferred
Skills
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with ERP systems and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Work Environment
Manufacturing shop environment with required PPE. Position requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
