Purchase Order Activities
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and departments.
- Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient, ordering more materials when necessary.
- Validate quantities of purchased products.
- Aid in count verification and coverage for other purchasers.
Inventory and Scheduling
- Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best supplier.
- Track the status of requisitions, contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and credit memos.
- Calculate costs of orders and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
- Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms with suppliers; recommend suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness.
Supplier and Customer Interaction
- Work with Production Control Manager and Inventory Control Supervisor to support sourcing programs.
- Support Procurement in seeking alternate suppliers.
- Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.

- Work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
- Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Lift a minimum of 25 lbs and 26 to 150 lbs with assistance of equipment.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
- Regular use of safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.
- Limited use of respirator.
- Regular exposure to noise level ranging from minimal to loud.
- Regularly working in a lead-contaminated area and must wear a uniform and safety shoes in that area to prevent the tracking and/or possible lead contamination of other clean areas or outside the regulated areas or the facility.
