6-month contract position (W2) in San Diego, CA for a medical-device company. US Citizens or Green-Card holders only. Full-time (40 hrs/wk), 1st shift (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM).

About the role

Entry-level Buyer/Purchasing role responsible for procurement, supplier management, and material planning activities in a regulated medical-device environment.

Must-have qualifications

• 1–2 years of purchasing experience
• Experience with FDA or ISO regulations
• Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain

Desirable skills

• ISO 13485 and/or medical-device industry experience
• SAP proficiency

Responsibilities

• Perform purchasing and planning activities, including creation and maintenance of material numbers (define critical material counts as needed)
• Execute ARAVO tasks: add new suppliers, update existing supplier records (e.g., 1151 compliance)
• Forecast all materials for Make-to-Order (MTO) production
• Create and update new and existing material records in RMS
• Serve as primary contact for supplier communication, issue resolution, and investigations
• Assess and meet internal stakeholder requirements; identify and vet new suppliers, ensuring all documentation is entered into the ARAVO Supplier Management database
• Initiate new supplier requests in ARAVO and SAP
• Assist in determining the risk class of services/products
• Review applicable forms and process stages for compliance
• Review new supplier additions to minimize duplicate sources
• Remove disqualified suppliers from the Approved Supplier List and notify the North American Shared Service Center (NASSC)
• Form and lead the Supplier Qualification Team (SQT) for new suppliers, including convening SQT meetings as needed
• Support nonconforming processes and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR)
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality on projects and facilitate supplier information exchange
