About the role

This position is responsible for purchasing and verifying terms in order to ensure the speedy delivery of product for both customer’s and Production’s needs.

Responsibilities

• Performs purchasing functions for the Plant to ensure product is here timely to meet customer orders and Production’s needs.
• Review orders and coordinate to the projected requirements and need for Floor Stocks.
• Decides on the manner in which orders maybe placed based on Corporate or Plant rules and regulations and the knowledge of the ingredient needs.
• Verifies pricing, freight charges, and shipment data on all orders.
• Ensures that billed data matches the price quotes before releasing data for processing.
• Works with customer service and production to update and or expedite the order based on feedback, on concerns, and on purchasing history knowledge.
• Evaluates Real Time Inventory Report weekly identifying root cause and corrective action.
• Assists Department by establishing and maintaining records, updating system data and by performing various clerical functions as directed.
• Maintains records and prepares reports.
• Provides inventory assistance.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 2 years of college or equivalent education, training, and/or experience.
• Minimum 6 months experience in purchasing/buyer role within the food production industry.
• Ability to pass Comprehension and Math Tests.
• Must have Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and AS 400.
