This position will report to the Procurement Supervisor and is based at SWRMC-LLTM in San Diego. Typical work days are Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm. As an AbilityOne employer, PCSI prioritizes individuals and veterans with disabilities; documentation may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Compile requests for materials, prepare and issue purchase orders, keep track of purchases and supplies, and handle inquiries about orders.
  • Prepare solicitations, evaluate bids from potential suppliers, and execute the procurement action.
  • Interview potential suppliers by telephone or face-to-face to check on prices and specifications; compile spreadsheets with price comparisons and other supplier details.
  • Expedite deliveries, track orders, and document delays of receipts.
  • Direct communication with requestors regarding all aspects of their requests; resolve supplier questions.
  • Reconcile purchase orders with received items or services; notify vendors/suppliers of untimely invoices and validate invoices against purchase orders or subcontracts.
  • Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and directions from the Procurement Manager and Project Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years related technical or practical experience in procurement or material control.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, PC functions, and procurement/inventory software.
  • General knowledge of Navy procurement operations.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to pass criminal, financial, drug, and driving screening.
  • Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
  • Ability to respond to after-hour emergency calls as determined by the Contracting Office Representative (COR).
  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% locally.
  • Ability to be insured as an authorized driver for the Company.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

  • Base pay of $32.53 an hour plus $5.55 for health and welfare.
