BUYER IV (Aerospace & Defense)

Responsibilities

• Request for quotes
• Generate purchase orders
• Communication with product and service vendors
• Work with accounting, receiving, and inspection teams
• Support material disposition function (MRB)
• Other assigned duties as required

• Understanding and interpretation of mechanical drawings
• Interact with cross-functional team including manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality, planning, production, program management, contracts, and vendors

• Support new vendor identification, supplier visits, and assessment for source selection
• High personal and professional integrity

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in business or APICS certificate in supply chain (plus)
• Fluent English Read/Write
• High level knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain including casting, machining, sheet metal fabrication, and metal finishing (plus)
• Minimum of 10 years of procurement experience, preferably in defense or aerospace with direct materials and commodities (plus)
• Prior familiarity and experience with defense industry acquisition FAR/DFARs regulations as well as government contractual requirements (plus)
• Basic knowledge of computer software, specifically Microsoft products, i.e. MS Word and Excel skills (plus)
• SAP ERP system experience (plus)
• Self-motivated to excel, act upon, and achieve best possible results
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
