About the role

A busser maintains the restaurant and bar area organized, sanitized, and prepared for guests while delivering professional, personalized service that aligns with the Company’s core values: Kindness, Engagement, Empathy, and Positivity (K.E.E.P.). This is a tipped position.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly service with smiles, professional verbiage, escorting guests, allowing guests the right of way, pulling out chairs, acknowledging special events, and engaging in other friendly mannerisms to deliver superior guest service.
• Carry heavy trays efficiently and securely.
• Clear and sanitize tables in a timely manner according to Saltgrass standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of food and beverage menus and plate specifications to ensure proper product quality, presentation, guest recommendations, sales of featured items, order accuracy, and superior service.
• Maintain guest table tops with proper setup, including silverware rolls, chairs, tables, and all dining necessities.
• Assist guests with any requests during their dining experience.
• Understand and adhere to the Saltgrass Pivot Point system, prioritizing “hot food” and “cold drinks,” and following 360, room buddies, and other system protocols.
• Engage in teamwork by assisting fellow employees and managers to ensure the finest possible service for guests.
• Follow directions efficiently and positively while maintaining courtesy, respect, and professionalism at all times.
• Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, health, and alcohol laws.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked restaurant according to PAR guidelines, including stocking ice, keeping floors debris-free, and ensuring “eye of the guest” cleanliness.
• Create a positive and lasting impression by engaging guests in conversation, welcoming them, and inviting them back.
• Ensure the restaurant is stocked with rolled silverware and roll silverware as needed.
• Maintain uniform and appearance according to established guidelines.
• Communicate guest satisfaction, supply needs, or areas needing attention to management.
• Turn in all lost and found items to the Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Minimum one-year experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant.
• Valid health card.
• Strong people skills, clean and well-groomed appearance, and respectful demeanor.
• Ability to carry heavy trays and bus-tubs efficiently and securely.
• Thorough knowledge of proper service and etiquette.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• High School Diploma or related degree preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for position-specific tasks.
• Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
• Effective communication in English with guests, employees, and management regarding position duties.
• Ability to complete standard forms and reports.
