About the role
The primary responsibility of the Bus Person is to maintain the employee dining room (EDR), including the storerooms, food pick-up area, and beverage station according to established cleanliness and stock standards.
Responsibilities
- Work with kitchen staff to ensure proper guest service.
- Sanitize tables, chairs, and booths with sanitizer to meet health standards.
- Replenish condiments, cutlery, napkins, and beverages at service stations.
- Sweep or mop the dining area throughout the shift to remove debris.
- Assist kitchen staff, dishwashers, and food servers during busy periods.
- Set up the dining area and food stations, including salad bar, hot line, and other food stations.
- Wash, peel, chop, slice fruits, vegetables, and meats.
- Prepare simple dishes and assemble ingredients for chefs.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience in a restaurant as a Bus Person or Food Runner.
- Experience working in a similar resort setting.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Familiarity with basic food handling and kitchen equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members and all business contacts.
Working Conditions
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
- Position may require strenuous physical activities and exposure to pipe, cigar, and/or cigarette smoking.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
