About the role

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, seeks a mid-level Business Trial Associate Attorney for its New York office.

Responsibilities

• Handle disputes of every scale, ranging from bet-the-company trials and complex class actions to brand and reputation matters, financial services litigation, securities enforcement, and international arbitration.
• Tackle complex disputes for businesses of all sizes, armed with deep knowledge of state and federal courts.
• Participate in a nationally recognized leader in the Commercial Litigation space, having been named as a “Leader” for Commercial Litigation and Complex Commercial Litigation in BTI’s Litigation Outlook 2026 report.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of litigation experience required
• Complex civil litigation experience
• Strong academic background from a top-tier law school
• Comparable law firm experience
• Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Candidates must be an active member of the New York State Bar.

• Excellent legal research and analytical skills
• Strong negotiation and advocacy abilities
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively

Benefits

• The annual salary range for this position is $265,000 - $310,000.

• $265,000 - $310,000 annually
