Business Tax Manager/Sr. Manager (Construction Expertise)

About the Role

Mowery & Schoenfeld is seeking an ambitious and curious business tax manager or senior manager with expertise in construction clients, mentoring younger staff, and providing exemplary client service. Tax Managers operate as leaders and mentors within our firm by demonstrating the ability to:

• Lead engagements by meeting client needs with a sense of urgency
• Develop recommendations and maintain client relationships by balancing client needs with other assignments and deadlines
• Provide proactive advice based on knowledge of tax law, particularly within business tax
• Demonstrate initiative to creatively solve issues in collaboration with the lead
• Leverage technology to automate both internal and client processes to improve efficiency
• Act as a mentor to younger staff and work directly with Directors and Partners

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant discipline
• 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting, with 2+ years in a managerial role preferred
• CPA-certified and active license
• Expertise in management of business and entity tax compliance and providing knowledgeable insight into construction clients
• Background and experience managing and actively providing advisory and tax solutions to clients
