Business Systems Analyst - Intermediate
About the role
Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, as a Business Systems Analyst - Intermediate. This position will be primarily onsite with some opportunities for remote work. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and document complex clinical and business requirements
- Devises plan and procedures to solve complex business problems given constraints
- Revising existing (problematic) system logic or workflow
- Evaluate clinical business implications of technology on the current environment
- Mentors less experienced Business System Analysts
- Provide advanced (Tier 3) support for complex issues related to clinical applications
- Perform root cause analysis and coordinate with vendors or internal teams for resolution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant certification in healthcare, business management or information systems
- Minimal of two (2) years’ experience with information system software solutions
- Strong understanding of clinical processes and workflow
- Proven skills in troubleshooting, problem solving, and solution development
- Experience with multiple clinical software applications, systems analysis/design, Integration/design, clinical workflow/design, and business process/design
- Develop system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and other visual representations to communicate system designs and functionalities
- Solid skills in documenting and analyzing business processes
- Solid understanding of underlying technologies: networking, medical devices, integration, EMR, server (on-premises and cloud), database, and storage
- Must be able to prioritize, organize, and assess work in order to meet aggressive deadlines and to cope in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of working well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and successfully interacting with others at all levels of the organization, including remote teams
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and effective presentation skills
- Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with internal and external participants
- Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in both normal and pressure situations

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis.
