Business Strategy and Planning Manager

About the role
The Business Strategy and Planning Manager drives strategic planning, financial analysis, and operational performance improvement across the organization. This role partners closely with business units, port operations, and leadership to monitor performance, improve profitability, and support new business initiatives through data-driven insights and financial modeling.
Responsibilities
- Lead revenue and cost analysis to identify financial improvement opportunities and support cost optimization initiatives.
- Partner with operations teams to review monthly financial closing results, conduct cost deep-dive analysis, and identify profitability improvement actions.
- Support headcount planning and productivity optimization to improve operational efficiency.
- Define and manage the operational planning process, working closely with business units and functional leaders to ensure alignment with business targets.
- Monitor and analyze key operational and sales performance metrics to generate insights and support management decision-making.
- Manage and analyze large sets of operational and sales data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support new business RFPs by conducting financial feasibility analysis and scenario simulations.
- Provide industry and operational benchmarks to evaluate pricing competitiveness and margin sustainability.
- Assess pricing structures and business models to ensure financial viability and profitability.
- Work closely with port operations, finance, and commercial teams to monitor monthly performance, identify improvement opportunities, and follow through on implementation of action plans.
- Lead a dynamic planning process with a rolling strategy that monitors market activities and adjusts key priorities.
- Oversee coordination of special projects and price quotes for other teams and present insights to management for decision-making and strategic planning.
- Analyze Finished Vehicle market trends, customer behavior, and sales performance in the US market to support business goals and identify growth opportunities.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to employees in planning and analysis roles.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
Requirements
- Strong financial modeling, data analysis, and presentation skills.
- Experience supporting logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations (preferred).
- Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to senior management.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and project management capability.
- Proficient PC skills: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in SAP, Power BI, or other visualization tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (required).
- Master’s Degree (preferred).
- 7–10 years of direct experience in finance, planning, and/or logistics (required).
- 8–13 years of direct experience (preferred).
- 4–7 years of supervisory experience (required).
- 1 year of indirect experience (required).

Pay
$101,000 - $113,000 annually (subject to compensation study upon candidate selection).
