HybridFull-time

At LifeSecure, we deliver innovative and accessible insurance solutions to protect clients and their families from unexpected medical claims. Our business is built on relationships, and we seek individuals who drive individual and company success, are passionate about teamwork, and committed to building long-term, meaningful relationships.

About the role

The Business Solutions Analyst is a dual-discipline role serving as the primary interface between technology and business stakeholders for application development, reporting, and quality assurance. This role gathers business and reporting requirements, translates them into functional and technical designs, and supports quality assurance across application deliverables. As part of a small BA/QA team, the analyst also ensures UI/UX consistency, champions emerging technologies (analytics, AI, testing tools), and partners with IT to deliver business analysis and requirements gathering.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis support and technical direction within the Business Solutions team, preparing high-quality deliverables and escalating complex analysis, reporting, and application development issues.
  • Partner with business users, SMEs, stakeholders, development teams, and external vendors to identify needs and improvement opportunities, translating them into detailed business requirements and technical design documentation for coding, testing, and implementation.
  • Lead the design and support of key business decision reports, dashboards, and charts, applying standards for automation, templates, and consistency. Act as a liaison across teams to evaluate processes and initiate system enhancements that streamline processing, reduce costs, and increase user satisfaction.
  • Identify, evaluate, and embed AI-driven features (e.g., predictive analytics, natural-language query, anomaly detection) into products, leveraging AI/generative AI tools to accelerate delivery.
  • Work within Agile/Scrum methodology to support consistent delivery through sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives. Support an operating cadence of releases and maintenance work.
  • Partner with the Product Owner and team to refine user stories, define acceptance criteria, and align on Definition of Ready/Done using Jira to manage epics, stories, tasks, defects, and dashboards.
  • Serve as backup Scrum Master as required, facilitating ceremonies, raising delivery risks early, and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Own quality assurance for application development projects, establishing QA standards and release criteria, and developing detailed test plans, schedules, and test cases that validate requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute functional, regression, and end-to-end tests, create and maintain reliable automated test suites aligned to regression needs, and maintain traceability matrices to ensure coverage aligns with business needs.
  • Monitor, triage, and debug issues using Jira for defect lifecycle management, develop defect-prevention processes, and research and recommend emerging QA, AI, and test-automation tools to improve team capability and efficiency.
  • Own User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for most initiatives, developing the UAT strategy and plan, defining scope and entry/exit criteria, and creating or facilitating UAT scenarios and test cases aligned to end-to-end business workflows with traceability to requirements.
  • Coordinate UAT readiness (environments, access, test data, scheduling), track progress, and lead defect triage with business and IT.
  • Act as project manager with development partners, coordinating timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and milestones across business, IT, and vendor partners. Maintain delivery artifacts such as schedules, decision logs, and RAID to drive them to closure.
  • Facilitate key checkpoints and compile status reports for management covering schedule, deliverable status, risks/issues, and mitigation actions.
  • Monitor progress against plan and raise early flags when scope, timeline, quality, or cost objectives are at risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive Business System/Informatics/Business Analysis, QA testing experience for application development lifecycles.
  • QA experience gained through a direct QA role or a combined analyst/QA role.
  • Prior experience collaborating with analysts, business partners, and technical teams to support requirements, testing, and delivery activities strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience using AI or generative AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude, or similar) to support development, testing, analysis, or documentation preferred.
  • Long-term care and/or supplemental health insurance industry experience preferred.

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to support and drive initiatives through collaboration and consensus-building, working across teams with a strong process orientation that balances strategic and tactical work.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multitask and react to changing priorities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively between business and technical audiences.
  • Ability to learn and apply new business and technical concepts to achieve business objectives, supported by strong technology skills and understanding of PC-based applications including Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
  • Working knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum practices, including sprint execution and Jira for sprint planning, backlog refinement, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong QA discipline (test planning, traceability, defect triage, and a regression mindset), UAT leadership, and test automation competency, including designing and maintaining automated suites and using results to inform release readiness.
  • Strong facilitation, organization, and coordination skills (timelines, dependencies, deliverables, and RAID management), paired with critical thinking and risk awareness to proactively identify risks and raise early flags that protect timeline, quality, and cost objectives.

Benefits

  • Competitive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Paid holidays and PTO.
  • Hybrid work schedule with collaborative in-office space.
