About the role
The Business Process Specialist will join the Business Product Solution (BPS) group within the Mechanical Engineering Department. BPS develops and maintains cross-functional internal software tools for project planning, design controls, and resource management. This role interfaces between the BPS group and the entire Functional Engineering Organization, offering opportunities to network with leadership, shape group goals, and contribute to tool creation.
This position is located in Poway, CA.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes, validates, and develops requirements for internally developed software tools; develops systems requirements, techniques, and controls; and supports implementation efforts.
- Represents the BPS group and its products to leadership, partner groups, and end users (Engineers and Managers).
- Provides training and documentation for internal tools and processes to all end users.
- Manages resource and project planning data to develop analytics tools, dashboards, and reports supporting Project Control activities.
- Organizes, prioritizes, and tracks new tool requests, feature improvements, upgrades, and bug fixes for current solutions.
- Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations, and applicable obligations in company operations.
- Works safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Performs additional functions and duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Equivalent experience may substitute for education.
- Self-motivated to learn customer needs and align them with available data and tools to recommend, organize, and develop successful products.
- Ability to effectively document business requirements and process improvements.
- Organized and motivated to track requests, status updates, recurring tasks, and maintain team focus on priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees, managers, customers, and external parties.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to work independently or lead in a team environment, including extended hours and travel as required.
Pay
Salary range: $51,650 – $87,290
