Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a liaison or administrative role, with a focus on business operations or office management.
- Related experience in school district or comparable governmental environment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues.
- Knowledge of data management systems and processes.
- Advanced computer skills and/or experience required, particularly in Microsoft Office products and payroll/benefits software applications.
- Possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate or acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary liaison with Human Resources for employee pay and benefits.
- Learn and understand all aspects of payroll processing, including timekeeping, deductions, reporting, and compliance with wage laws.
- Assist with payroll-related tasks, such as report generation and resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Acquire knowledge of company benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
- Understand and assist with accounts payable and receivable processes to help resolve issues.
- Ensure HR, Benefit, and Payroll tasks are executed correctly and efficiently.
- Provide training and support to HR, Benefit, Payroll, and Accounting staff to align their practices with business office policies and procedures.
- Ensure clear, accurate, and timely communication between the payroll department, benefits department, accounting department, human resource department, and other district staff.
- Address and resolve inquiries and concerns with multiple departments efficiently.
- Successfully coordinate and manage meetings and initiatives involving the business office.
- Identify and resolve issues or conflicts between departments in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement recommendations that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Accurately document communications, decisions, and actions taken.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Promote a collaborative and supportive working environment by addressing concerns and fostering teamwork.
- Support and manage special projects as assigned, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
- Report to the Business Office Director activities, outcomes, and any issues or improvements.
- Demonstrates good safety practices and adheres to all District rules, regulations, and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned in order to carry out functions of the office.
Schedule
Twelve-month position.
