About the role

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for turning data into actionable information to support business processes and meet TriWest's contract requirements. This role involves collaborating across teams to deliver timely and relevant reports, facilitating meetings, and advocating for process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate meetings and identify data requirements and business process changes.
  • Prioritize data requirements and business process changes to meet reporting and visualization needs.
  • Clarify complex business issues and recommend solutions.
  • Advocate for business process improvement through data analysis, process change, and technology application.
  • Lead project team assignments of moderate scope requiring expert technical skills or good understanding of business functions.
  • Collaborate with other teams within the organization to develop and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Document the reporting process and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Respond to detailed questions on data and trends under short turnaround times.
  • Educate end users on the meaning of reports by explaining the underlying data and trends.
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain quality IT solutions to support business processes.
  • Balance clients' business requirements and preferred technical architecture.
  • Recommend creative and innovative solutions to business or technical problems.
  • Provide client support for operation systems consistent with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Simplify or eliminate low-value-added work processes.
  • Communicate issues openly, honestly, and timely with peers, management, and customers.
  • Prepare and present new initiatives to senior leadership to gain buy-in and support.
  • Work with vendors to clarify and resolve tool/software functionality issues.
  • Participate in the definition, implementation, and execution of best practices.
  • Deliver analysis/reporting products and support while managing clients' expectations.
  • Interface with customer and other departments to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Interact with vendors on routine testing matters.
  • Analyze and identify core business processes for application design.
  • Communicate issues openly, honestly, and timely with peers, management, and customers.
  • Prepare and present new initiatives to senior leadership to help obtain buy-in and support.
  • Work with vendors to clarify and resolve tool/software functionality issues.
  • Participate in the definition, implementation, and execution of best-practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or any other relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • If supporting TRICARE contract, must be a U.S. citizen and pass a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Business Analyst or data analysis role.
  • Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, SSRS, SAS).
  • Moderate SQL development skills.
  • Experience with process flow documentation and design.
  • Experience in a healthcare operations environment.
  • Experienced Tableau user.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g. SAS, R, etc.).
  • Clinical analytics experience.
  • Call Center reporting experience.
  • Healthcare Claims reporting experience.
  • Experience developing Tableau dashboards.
  • Experience with geo-spatial analysis tools (e.g. ESRI).

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen if supporting TRICARE contract.
  • Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation.
  • Experience with healthcare industry.
  • Expertise with data modeling & data mining.
  • Experience with data architecture, design & development, with DB2 and MS SQL DBMS.
  • Experience with ETL tools (Cognos Data Manager or MS SQL EIS).
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Access, and query language/software.

Pay

This position ranges from around $90,000 - $100,000 per year.

Schedule

Availability to work any shift. Works within a standard office environment, with minimal travel.
