About the role

The Business Growth Portfolio Manager will lead business growth, customer engagement, and capture activities across the rapidly evolving aerospace and space technology market. This role will serve as the company’s focal point for identifying, qualifying, and pursuing opportunities within the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) ecosystem, including commercial space and civil space initiatives, while supporting the company’s broader growth strategy in partnership with the Vice President of Growth.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of market dynamics, competitor activity, and procurement pipelines
  • Advise leadership on strategic investments, partnerships, and positioning opportunities
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline of opportunities within the LEO domain
  • Lead capture activities for strategic pursuits from qualification through proposal submission
  • Develop win strategies, teaming approaches, and customer engagement plans
  • Support bid/no-bid decisions with clear assessments of win probability, strategic fit, and resource requirements
  • Cook up compelling and compliant submissions in coordination with proposal and technical teams
  • Contribute to long-range growth planning and annual revenue forecasting
  • Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies, commercial customers, primes, and industry partners
  • Represent the company at conferences, industry forums, and customer engagements
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships that expand market access and technical capabilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Aerospace, or related field, plus seven (7) years of experience in business development, capture, program management, or growth strategy within the aerospace or defense industry
  • Demonstrated experience supporting, leading, and winning pursuits in the LEO, space, or government sectors
  • Strong understanding of the commercial space and/or government acquisition environment
  • Proven ability to develop customer relationships and strategic partnerships
  • Experience managing complex pursuits and coordinating cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Able to operate effectively in a lean and entrepreneurial environment
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline

Skills

  • Existing relationships within NASA, DoW, SDA, Space Force, commercial space operators, or international space organizations
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS contracting environments

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others

Pay

Compensation and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience. Details will be provided during the interview process.

Schedule

The Business Growth Portfolio Manager will work in a flexible, fast-paced environment, requiring occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
