About the role

The Business / Financial Analyst will support financial reporting and broader financial responsibilities across the client IT landscape. The role will partner with IT divisions, Procurement, Budget Managers, and client agencies to track contracts and expenses, support monthly accounting activities, analyze financial performance, and maintain accurate rolling financial models.

Responsibilities

  • Track IT contracts and collaborate with IT and Procurement staff to ensure renewals are processed without service interruption.
  • Forecast and track actual expenses, using advanced Excel expertise to maintain and update financial models on a daily basis.
  • Handle monthly accounting transactions, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassification entries.
  • Perform financial analysis, including reconciliations, variance commentary, cost-benefit analysis, and budget optimization.
  • Work with Budget Managers to understand, analyze, and explain financial variances.
  • Track and support consulting and professional services engagements in the Beeline Vendor Management System and assist with onboarding new resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or equivalent, or 4–6 years of relevant experience (Tier 2).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with particular expertise in Excel.
  • Ability to perform high-volume work accurately and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with budgeting, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Ability to manage and maintain rolling financial models.

Skills

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Procurement and Financial Modules.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Asset/Contract Management.
  • Experience with the Beeline Vendor Management System.
  • Power BI experience.
  • Basic knowledge of IT hardware, software, equipment, and maintenance agreements.
  • SQL or Python experience for data extraction.
  • Experience building and maintaining interactive dashboards.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and understanding of CapEx/OpEx treatment.
  • Experience with Hyperion and PeopleSoft ERP.
  • Experience with cost allocation.
  • Prior experience working with or supporting organizations within the MTA.
